A Limerick man has been arrested after a large amount of drugs was seized in Kildare Thursday.
Gardai say the man was arrested around 1.40pm when the Garda National Drugs Unit along with the Naas District Detective and Drug Units, stopped the vehicle he was driving in Naas as it made it’s way towards Limerick.
In the vehicle Gardai found a number of large cardboard cartons containing 122kgs of herbal cannabis and 2kgs of suspected Cocaine. A spokesperson says the haul is estimated to have a street value of €1.6million.
The 36 year old driver is detained at Naas Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act.
