Boil water notice to remain in place until the middle of next week at least.
At least 700 households have been affected by a water boil notice which was issued by Limerick County Council Friday evening.
The council says the measure has been taken as a precaution and applies to approximately 2,000 customers of the South West Regional Water Supply and Feahanagh/Castlemahon Group Water Scheme. Those affected include residents in Broadford, Dromcolligher, Feohanagh/Castlemahon, Mountplummer, Kilmeedy,
Feenagh and the surrounding areas.
Officials say the notice has been issued after the County Council’s Water Services section detected a “deterioration in water quality” in the South West Regional Water Supply.
In the affected areas water for drinking purposes, brushing teeth and food preparation should be boiled.
