Limerick man dies in early morning crash

A 19 year old county Limerick man has been killed following a road accident in Kerry early Monday morning

Gardai in Listowel are investigating the circumstances of the fatal accident which involved one car around 5.40am near Dunard Upper on the Tarbert to Ballylongford Road.

The young driver, believed to be from Glin, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant of the car. Investigators say the road remains closed until the afternoon pending a forensic collision examination of the scene.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them in Listowel on 068 50820.

The young victim has been named as 19 year old Mark Flaherty of Ballyguiltenane, Glin.
