A second precautionary boil water notice has been issued this week and this time it affects the Montpelier, O’Briensbridge and Bridgetown areas.
Limerick County Council and Clare County Council made the announcement Tuesday evening that following consultation with the HSE, a precautionary boil notice has been put in place in the areas outlined and that 500 people would be affected.
It’s believed a deterioration in water quality in the Montpelier Water Supply Scheme, which serves all three villages, was detected.
