Limerick County Council announced Sunday evening it will be setting up water collection points beginning from Monday to facilitate householders who have been affected by burst or frozen water pipes.
The water is being provided at the four locations of the Dooradoyle Library and the Council Area Offices in Newcastle West, Kilmallock and Annacotty.
The standpipes will be in operation from 10am to 4pm daily from Monday until further notice.
There was widespread snow Sunday leaving many secondary, regional and housing estate roads in a dangerous condition. There were very bad road conditions in the Bruff area and local Gardai were asking motorists to stay off the road there.
