Army explosives unit called to investigate suspect devices

Army bomb disposal experts were called to Limerick to investigate the discovery of three suspicious devices Thursday morning.

The devices, believed to be explosive, were discovered at the rear of the Roxboro shopping center during Garda search operations being carried out in relation to criminal activity.

The area was sealed off by Gardai while the army explosives ordinate unit examines the scene. Two men have been detained and are helping Gardai with their enquires.

The devices have been removed by Army experts for further forensic examinations.

Further searches have been taking place around the city including searches in Murroe.

Fifty rounds of ammunition were reportedly seized during a search of a house in Glasgow Park.
