Gardai at Henry Street made an appeal Friday afternoon for information in relation to a missing city woman.
18 year old Leanne Higgins of John Street has not been seen by friends or family since Monday night, the 15th of February.
Gardai described the missing woman as being 5 foot 2 inches tall, of medium build with black hair and brown eyes. She also has a stud in her upper left lip.
Meanwhile searches of the River Shannon have continued daily since a woman was seen in the river that same night. Divers with the volunteer Limerick Marine search and rescue have been carrying out dives of the river stretch along the Quays between Sarsfield Bridge and the Limerick docks since the sighting of a woman in the river near Howleys Quay.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Howleys Quay and Harvey’s Quay Monday night who may have seen a woman in her later teens wearing a dark tracksuit with white runners between 10pm and 11.45pm to contact them.
“There is a possibility that the missing person and this female who was seen in the river; there could be a connection but we’re keeping an open mind,” a Garda spokesperson told local radio Friday.
