1.5 tones of fireworks with over 1,500 shots
Up to 30,000 people are expected to attend Skyfest Saturday night. The display itself will take place from 7pm to 8pm. The show will be broadcast live on RTE 1 from 7.30pm followed by a special National Lottery Lotto draw live from a stage at Arthurs Quay Park at 8.00pm.
Pre-show activity, provided by Shannon Development kicks off from 6pm and includes live bands, fire jugglers, face painters and much more. Street Performance group Arcana will also perform for the crowds in the lead up to the main spectical.

Disabled Viewing
The viewing areas for people with a disability are located at St. Munchin’s Church and adjacent to the Court House at City Hall.
Road Closures (AA)
Major road closures will be in operation in the city from approx 6pm until 10pm. South of the River Shannon Mill Lane, Lower Cecil St, Shannon St, Bedford Row, Sarsfield St, Liddy St, Francis St, St. Augustine Place, Crosbie Row, Newgate Lane, Clontemple, Nicholas St, Russells Quay, The Bishop Quay, Howley’s Quay, Harvey’s Quay, Sarsfield Bridge, Honan’s Quay, Arthur’s Quay, George’s Quay, Merchant’s Quay, Convent St and Verdant place will all be affected.
North of the river closures will take place on Castle St, Thomond Bridge, Thomond Gate, North Circular Rd, Ennis Rd, Mass Lane, High Rd, O’Callaghan’s Strand, Clancy’s Strand and Brown’s Quay. On-Street parking restrictions will be in operation in the city from 4pm on Saturday 13th. Those not attending Skyfest should avoid the area.
Shannon Bridge will be the only operating Shannon River crossing in Limerick City between 6.00pm and 10.00pm on Saturday, 13th March, 2010.
